Adam Lind brought home the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as the host Toronto Blue Jays put a dent in the Los Angeles Angels' postseason hopes with a 3-2 victory Monday night.

The loss dropped the Angels 4 1/2 games behind the Boston Red Sox in the American League wild card standings and five back of the Texas Rangers in the AL West. The Rangers, who were idle, saw their magic number drop to five.

Toronto is 10-0 in extra-inning games at home this season.

With runners on first and third and the Angels employing a five-man infield, Lind slapped a grounder against Angels reliever Scott Downs (6-3) that outfielder Torii Hunter fielded between first and second. His throw home was wide right as Mike McCoy slid in to score the winning run.

Casey Janssen (6-0) earned the win with a scoreless inning of relief while J.P. Arencibia ended a 2-for-10 mini-slump with two hits and a pair of RBIs as the Blue Jays moved three games above .500.

Hunter and Mark Trumbo went deep for the Angels. Trumbo's solo shot to center field in the fifth inning was his 28th home run of the season, leaving him three shy of Tim Salmon's rookie record set in 1993.
