Nationals 4, Marlins 0: Stephen Strasburg combined with three relievers on a seven-hit shutout as visiting Washington handed Miami its fourth loss in five games.

Strasburg (10-4) halted his personal three-game losing streak, limiting the Marlins to six hits and a walk while striking out seven. The 23-year-old, who improved to 3-1 lifetime against Miami, has allowed three runs or fewer in each of his last eight outings.

Strasburg helped himself at the plate, delivering an RBI single in the fifth that gave Washington a 1-0 lead. Steve Lombardozzi followed with a run-scoring base hit, while Michael Morse and Danny Espinosa each drove in a run in the sixth.

Tyler Clippard made things interesting in the ninth as he loaded the bases on a single and two walks with none out. But Clippard escaped unscathed, striking out Justin Ruggiano before inducing a pair of foul outs.

Ricky Nolasco (8-7) yielded four runs and six hits over 5 1/3 frames. The right-hander, who had allowed a total of two runs over his previous three starts, kept Washington hitless until the fifth inning.

Greg Dobbs had two hits for the Marlins, who were shut out for the ninth time this year.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami went 1-for-13 with runners in scoring position. ... Nationals SS Ian Desmond sat out with a left oblique injury. ... Strasburg also got out of a bases-loaded jam in the third inning. ... Washington looks to clinch the series victory Monday when RHP Edwin Jackson faces RHP Carlos Zambrano.
