Mariners 21, Rangers 8: Justin Smoak launched a pair of three-run homers for a career-high six RBIs and Jesus Montero drove in two runs in both the eight-run second and third innings as visiting Seattle recorded its highest-scoring output since 2000.

Kyle Seager collected four hits and joined Montero by scoring as many times as the Mariners banged out 20 hits. Dustin Ackley added a two-run homer and every member of Seattle's starting lineup had at least one hit and one run scored.

After capping the second inning with a two-run homer, Montero gave the Mariners an 11-0 lead with a two-run double to left center in the third. Smoak followed with a towering shot to highlight the frame.

Michael Saunders ripped a pair of doubles in the third inning for Seattle, which has scored 31 runs en route to winning its last two contests against its American League West rival. Prior to this uprising, the Mariners mustered only 11 runs during their five-game losing skid.

Staked to an offensive explosion, Blake Beavan (3-4) scattered two hits over five scoreless innings before running into trouble in the sixth. He yielded five runs before exiting to collect only his second win in eight starts.

Derek Holland (4-4) wasn't as fortunate as he surrendered eight runs on as many hits in 1 2/3 innings. Yoshinori Tateyama suffered a similar fate in just two-thirds of an inning. He yielded eight runs on seven hits to see his ERA balloon to 15.19.
