Mariners 4, Astros 0: Aaron Harang pitched a two-hitter for his second shutout in his last four starts while Raul Ibanez homered for the second straight night as host Seattle handed Houston its sixth straight loss.

Harang (3-6) yielded an infield hit to J.D. Martinez with two outs in the second inning and retired the next 12 batters in order before Brandon Barnes reached on an error in the sixth. Martinez singled to lead off the eighth and Harang retired the final six batters to complete his 15th career complete game and eighth shutout.

Harang, a 35-year-old right-hander who entered the game with a 6.70 ERA, struck out a season-high 10 and did not walk a batter. Houston's Bud Norris (5-6), who was 1-1 with a 1.73 ERA in his last four starts, allowed three runs in seven innings.

Seattle scored in the first inning when Endy Chavez led off with a double and scored on a wild pitch with two outs. The Mariners made it 2-0 in the second when Nick Franklin led off with a double and advanced to third on a throwing error by right fielder Trevor Crowe before scoring on Michael Saunders' sacrifice fly.

Ibanez's team-leading 13th home run - and 11th in his last 27 games - was an opposite-field shot to left with one out in the sixth inning. Chavez led off the eighth with a double and scored on Kyle Seager's one-out single.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Houston 2B Jose Altuve went 0-for-4 to end his hitting streak at 11 games. ... The Astros committed two errors and have a major league-most 49 this season. ... Mariners SS Brendan Ryan committed his fourth error in five games and eighth of the season. He had nine in 141 games in 2012.
