Astros 6, Royals 4 (11): Mike Moustakas belted a solo homer leading off the 11th inning as visiting Kansas City spoiled the major-league debut of top Houston prospect George Springer with its second straight victory over the Astros.

Moustakas drove a 2-1 pitch from Jerome Williams (0-1) out to right for his first of the season before Jarrod Dyson scored on a fielder's choice grounder by Omar Infante. Danny Duffy (1-0) yielded three hits and struck out four in the ninth and 10th innings while Greg Holland allowed a hit and a walk in the 11th before earning his fifth save.

Springer, the No. 11 overall pick in the 2011 draft, went 1-for-5 with a walk and two strikeouts, and scored on Jason Castro's two-run homer while Marc Krauss also hit a two-run shot for Houston. Danny Valencia delivered a solo home run and Salvador Perez recorded two RBIs for the Royals, who committed four errors.

The Royals scored first when Valencia drove a 2-1 pitch out to left with one out in the second. The Astros took the lead in the third as Springer reached on a swinging bunt with one out for his first major league hit and Castro followed by ripping a 2-2 offering over the wall in left-center for his third of the season.

Jesus Guzman walked on four pitches to lead off the sixth before Krauss crushed a 1-0 pitch the opposite way to left to give Houston a 4-2 lead. Kansas City got even in the seventh when it loaded the bases with two outs and Perez delivered a two-run single to center off reliever Matt Albers.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Astros starter Dallas Keuchel yielded two runs and six hits in six innings while the Royals' Jeremy Guthrie yielded four runs and six hits in six frames and hasn't lost in his last nine April starts (6-0). ... To make room for Springer and to reinstate RHP Scott Feldman from the bereavement list, Houston optioned OF Robbie Grossman to Triple-A Oklahoma City and designated RHP Lucas Harrell (0-3, 9.49 ERA) for assignment. ... Springer, who recorded 37 homers, 108 RBIs and 45 stolen bases at two minor-league levels last season, was picked off first after walking in the fifth inning. He played right field and batted second.
