Mariners 2, Royals 1: Mike Zunino homered, doubled and scored twice as visiting Seattle completed a three-game sweep of Kansas City.

Willie Bloomquist went 2-for-3 with an RBI double and Brad Miller added two hits as the Mariners recorded their first three-game sweep since their season-opening series. Roenis Elías (7-5) struck out five while allowing one run and five hits over 6 2/3 innings to send the Royals to their fourth consecutive defeat.

Salvador Perez had a pair of hits and Justin Maxwell delivered a sacrifice fly for the only run for Kansas City, which was held to one run for the third time during the four-game skid. Yordano Ventura (5-6) took the loss despite allowing only two runs over seven innings.

Alex Gordon and Perez opened the second inning with singles before Gordon moved to third on Danny Valencia's flyout and scored on Maxwell's sacrifice fly. The Mariners tied it when Zunino doubled to lead off the fifth and came home on Bloomquist's two-out double.

Zunino, who also went deep in Friday's series opener, put the Mariners ahead by crushing a breaking ball over the bullpen in left to lead off the seventh - the first homer allowed by Ventura in five starts. Three Seattle relievers bridged the gap to Fernando Rodney, who registered his 21st save.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Bloomquist, who played for Kansas City in 2009-10, recorded his fifth multi-hit game in his last eight contests. ... The Royals recalled 3B Valencia from Triple-A Omaha and sent RHP Louis Coleman to Omaha. ... Kansas City continues its nine-game homestand when the Los Angeles Dodgers open a three-game set Monday while Seattle heads home to host Boston in the first of three games.
