Wade Taylor IV scored five of his game-high 19 points down the stretch and Texas A&M defeated LSU 73-69 on Saturday in Baton Rouge, La.
Tyrece Radford added 15 points, Jace Carter scored 13 and Andersson Garcia had 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Aggies (11-7, 2-3 SEC).
Jordan Wright scored 15, Jalen Cook 12, Mike Williams III had 11 and Tyrell Ward and Jalen Reed added 10 each for the Tigers (11-7, 3-2).
Reed's 3-pointer started the second-half scoring and increased LSU's lead to five points, but Taylor scored the final seven points of a 9-0 run that gave Texas A&M a 42-38 lead.
Williams answered with a 3-pointer before the Aggies pushed the lead to seven points twice.
Cook's three-point play started and Reed's 3-pointer ended an 8-0 run that gave the Tigers a 52-51 lead.
The lead changed hands three times and the score was tied once before Texas A&M opened a five-point lead twice.
Will Baker converted a three-point play and Ward and Wright made consecutive 3-pointers to help LSU take a 65-63 lead.
The score was tied twice more before Taylor's 3-pointer gave the Aggies a 70-67 lead with 2:56 left.
Reed's layup ended a scoring drought of more than three minutes for the Tigers, pulling them within a point with 1:04 left.
Two free throws by Taylor increased the lead to 72-69 with 43 seconds left and Cook missed two 3-pointers before Solomon Washington made one of two free throws with four seconds left.
Baker made a layup, Cook hit two free throws and Wright scored five straight points as the Tigers opened a 9-0 lead.
Harry Coleman made a jumper for the Aggies' first points more than four minutes into the game.
Carter became the seventh different Texas A&M player to score when he made a 3-pointer. He hit another trey and added a free throw to trim the lead to 23-21.
Cook answered with a 3-pointer before Texas A&M took on its only lead of the half, 29-28, on a 3-pointer by Radford.
LSU rebuilt the lead to four points twice before Wildens Leveque made two free throws, leaving the Tigers with a 35-33 halftime lead.
