Savannah State hung around for a half but in the end, No. 17 Kansas State had too many weapons, especially Jacob Pullen.
Pullen scored 24 points and Kansas State pulled away in the second half to post a 92-61 victory over Savannah State on Monday.
The Wildcats (12-3) led 46-35 at the break, and outscored the Tigers 46-26 in the second half.
Pullen was 9 of 12 from the field and made four 3-pointers to lead four
Kansas State players on double-figures. He was sharp in his return from a
three-game suspension for receiving impermissible clothing benefits
from a local department store.
Rodney McGruder scored 15 points, Wally Judge had 13 and 12 rebounds, and Jamar Samuels added 11 points for the Wildcats.
Kansas State has won three straight and will open Big 12 Conference play Saturday at Oklahoma State.
Savannah State (2-15) has lost two straight and was playing the fifth
game of a seven-game road trip. The Tigers have played four home games
this season, and have lost 15 of their last 16 overall.
Preston Blackmon led the Tigers with 19 points.
