Seton Hall 78, Norfolk State 65: Fuquan Edwin scored 23 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and collected six steals to lead the Pirates to a second round win in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament over the visiting Spartans.
Eugene Teague added 16 points and 11 rebounds for Seton Hall (2-0), which took control of the game early in the second half with a 9-2 run in the first 3:44 to open up a 40-31 lead. The Pirates held a 31-29 halftime advantage before the decisive spurt.
Reserve point guard Kyle Smyth added 14 points for the Pirates and connected on all four of his 3-point attempts. Brandon Mobley, who did not score, added 10 rebounds for Seton Hall, which outrebounded Norfolk State 42-26.
Pendarvis Williams scored 20 points and Malcolm Hawkins added 15 for the Spartans (1-1). Seven-foot junior center Brandon Goode, who started the season with a double-double for Norfolk State, scored only four points and grabbed seven rebounds before fouling out.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Pirates are 30-6 in November over the past six seasons. ... Seton Hall is 56-27 all-time at the Prudential Center. ... The Pirates play Washington at Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut on Saturday in the next round of the tournament.
