Mississippi 82, Texas A&M 73:
Marshall Henderson had 18 points, all coming on six 3-pointers, and
the host Rebels won their second straight.
Mississippi (21-7, 10-5 SEC)
avenged a loss to the Aggies 14 days earlier. Murphy Holloway added
16 points and nine rebounds for the Rebels, who shot 50.9 percent
from the field. Jarvis Summers added 15 points while Reginald Buckner
chipped in 12 and seven boards.
Texas A&M (16-12, 6-9) was
led by Elston Turner's 25 points. Fabyon Harris scored 17 points
while Kourtney Roberson added 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Trailing early on, the Rebels
used a 16-7 run over the final 7:14 of the first half to take a
six-point halftime advantage.
The Aggies closed to within two
with 15:09 to play on Roberson's layup, but the Rebels
responded with a 14-3 run to break the game open. The lead got up to
as many as 18 the rest of the way, with A&M unable to made a
serious run.
GAME
NOTEBOOK: Texas A&M shot 53.6 percent from the field but hit 44.4
percent from the free-throw line. … Henderson's six 3-pointers tied
him with Chris Warren for the most 3-pointers made in a season (111)
at Ole Miss. … The Aggies return home for a two-game stretch,
starting with a game against South Carolina Saturday. The Rebels
travel to face their in-state rival, Mississsippi State, in a
Saturday contest.
