No. 4 Ohio State 77, Washington 66: Deshaun Thomas scored 21 of his career-high-tying 31 points in the first half as the Buckeyes cruised to victory in the Naismith bracket championship game of the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic in Uncasville, Conn.
Thomas made his first nine shots - including a trio of 3-pointers - and Aaron Craft drilled all eight of his free-throw attempts to finish with 18 points.
Fourth-ranked Ohio State (3-0) held a 41-31 edge at halftime before registering a 10-1 run early in the second half to put the game away.
After Washington closed to within five at 44-39, Thomas and Amir Williams made a pair of layups and a free throw apiece to cap the signature run.
C.J. Wilcox shot 7-for-12 from the field for a team-high 18 points for Washington (2-2), which split its two games in the tournament.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The teams were playing for the first time since 1972. Washington leads the all-time series, 8-4 ... The Huskies shot 9-of-19 from 3-point range. ... Excluding Thomas, the rest of the Buckeyes were 0-for-5 from 3-point range.
