Xavier 66, No. 22 Georgetown 53: Myles Davis scored 19 points as the Musketeers collected their first Big East road win of the season.

Davis made 6-of-9 from the field and hit three 3-pointers and Trevon Bluiett had 11 points off the bench for Xavier (14-7, 5-4 Big East), which improved to 2-6 on the road. Matt Stainbrook scored 12 points and Remy Abell added 11 points and a game-high eight rebounds for the Musketeers.

D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera scored all 13 of his points in the second half for Georgetown (14-6, 6-3), which dropped both games to Xavier this season. Joshua Smith accounted for 10 points and five rebounds and L.J. Peak contributed 12 points for the Hoyas, who committed 17 turnovers.

The Hoyas had one of their worst halves of the season in the opening 20 minutes, shooting 25 percent and needing more than 16 minutes to reach double figures. Davis nearly outscored the Hoyas himself, putting up 13 points, including a pair of late 3-pointers, to send Xavier to a 29-16 halftime advantage.

Georgetown needed fewer than 10 minutes in the second half to match its first-half production, but still faced a 48-30 deficit as Bluiett nailed a pair of triples for Xavier. Smith-Rivera drained back-to-back 3-pointers before his layup brought the Hoyas to within seven points with four minutes left, but the Musketeers took care of business down the stretch.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Georgetown, which received a combined three points from Smith and Smith-Rivera in the first half, made one field goal over the final 11 minutes of the first half. ... The Hoyas, who entered the game averaging 35.5 rebounds, lost the battle of the boards 36-28. ... Xavier made 25-of-32 from the foul line while Georgetown struggled to 13-of-24.
