No. 10 Utah 76, California 61: Jakob Poeltl recorded 18 points and eight rebounds as the Utes snapped the visiting Golden Bears’ five-game winning streak.

Delon Wright scored 16 points, Brandon Taylor added 13 and Dakarai Tucker chipped in 12 for Utah (20-4, 10-2 Pac-12), which won its fourth straight and remained tied with Arizona atop the conference standings. Chris Reyes grabbed 10 rebounds as the Utes forced 13 turnovers while extending their home winning streak to 17 games.

Tyrone Wallace led Cal (16-10, 6-7) with 26 points on 11-of-15 shooting while grabbing seven rebounds. Jabari Bird scored a season-high 21 points while David Kravish was held to four on 2-of-11 shooting for the Golden Bears, who went 4-for-14 from 3-point range in losing their third in a row to the Utes.

Wallace made seven of his first eight shots and scored 17 points in the game’s opening 12 1/2 minutes, but Utah outscored the Golden Bears 14-2 over the final 4:39 of the first half and took a 40-34 lead into the break. The Utes extended their advantage to 46-34 with just under 14 minutes remaining as Cal missed its first 10 shots of the second half.

Wright converted two free throws with just under six minutes left to push Utah’s lead to 68-54, and Cal was unable to respond with four players battling foul trouble. Wright added five assists and three steals for the Utes, who have held each of their last 23 opponents to 69 points or fewer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cal G Jordan Mathews, who averaged 15.6 points during the team’s five-game winning streak, missed both of his shot attempts - which came from beyond the arc - and was held scoreless. … Wright gave the Utes a brief scare early in the second half as he exited the game with an apparent leg injury, but he returned less than three minutes later. … Wallace and Bird were 21-for-29 from the field while their teammates made a combined 5-of-28 shots.
