With the score tied at 22, Indiana put together a 7-0 run that included a dunk from Joey Brunk and a dunk and three-point play from Jackson-Davis.

But Arkansas rallied back, cutting Indiana's lead to 29-27 on a 3-pointer from Joe.

After a putback from Arkansas sophomore forward Reggie Chaney cut Indiana's lead to 35-33, the Hoosiers answered with a 3-pointer from sophomore point guard Rob Phinisee with 22.7 seconds left in the first half, putting the Hoosiers up 38-35 at halftime.

Indiana played without freshman forward Jerome Hunter, who sat out the game with a thigh bruise. The Hoosiers also lost starting guard Al Durham in the first half after Durham was ejected on a flagrant 2 foul for throwing an elbow against Arkansas forward Adrio Bailey.
