Tres Tinkle scored 24 points and Kylor Kelley added 19 points to lead Oregon State to a 74-56 victory over California on Saturday at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Ore.
The Beavers (17-13, 7-11 Pac-12) avenged a 69-67 loss to the Golden Bears on Feb. 1 at Berkeley.
Tinkle, who passed Gary Payton on Thursday to become the Beavers all-time leading scorer, connected on 4 of 8 from beyond the arc and made all six free throw attempts as well grabbing six rebounds.
Kelley was 8 of 10 from the field, pulled down eight rebounds and had three blocks.
Paris Austin led Cal (13-18, 7-11) with 18 points.
Matt Bradley, the Golden Bears leading scoring leader, was held to eight points on 2 of 10 from the field before called for a flagrant foul and fouling out.
The Beavers led start-to-finish and the game was tied just once, at 6. A layup by Ethan Thompson and an alley-oop dunk by Kelley gave the Beavers the lead for good with just more than 12 minutes left in the first half.
Oregon State stretched the lead to 20-10 on Tinkle's 3-point jumper at the 8:25 mark. Bradley's 3-pointer, his only points of the first half, pulled the Golden Bears to within five at 26-21 with 2:53 left in the half.
That was the score heading into halftime as neither team's offense could get untracked. The Beavers shot just 29 percent (9 of 31) and the Golden Bears were only slightly better at 34.8 percent (8 of 23).
Oregon State quickly extended its lead to 31-23 on a 3-point jumper by Alfred Hollins. Bradley answered with a jumper to pull Cal within five at 31-26.
With Tinkle doing the damage from outside and Kelley being practically unstoppable inside, Oregon State went on a 9-2 run with Tinkle's 3-pointer out of a timeout opening up some breathing room for the Beavers.
The lead swelled to 56-38 on another Tinkle trey with 8:34 left.
Cal cut the deficit to nine at 60-51 on two free throws from Bradley with just under four minutes to go. But the Beavers answered with a 12-2 run to end any chance of a Cal comeback.
