Eric Ayala scored 17 points and Aaron Wiggins added 15 points and nine rebounds as Maryland shot 64 percent in the second half en route to a 70-64 upset of No. 6 Wisconsin on Monday night in Madison, Wis.

Maryland (6-3, 1-2 Big Ten) erased an eight-point deficit early in the second half to earn the program's first victory against a Top 10 foe since defeating Iowa on Jan. 28, 2016.

Donta Scott added 12 points for the Terrapins, who shot 50 percent from the floor for the game while outrebounding the Badgers 32-29.

D'Mitrik Trice led all scorers with 25 points for Wisconsin (8-2, 2-1), which had a 10-game conference winning streak and a 15-game home winning streak snapped.

Aleem Ford had 10 points and six rebounds while Nate Reuvers had eight points and six boards for the hosts.

With the Badgers trailing 62-59 and 1:20 to go, Trice missed a layup. Scott followed with dunk in transition to put Maryland ahead by five. Wisconsin missed a jumper on its next trip down the floor before Ayala sank a pair of free throws to give the Terrapins a 66-59 edge.

Maryland fell behind by eight early in the second half but responded to tie the game at 34 with 13:31 to go on a Scott layup. The Terrapins stifled the Badgers with full-court pressure throughout the second half but were also relentless on the other end, starting the second half 11-for-19 from the floor.

Wiggins drilled a 3-pointer with 7:27 to go to give Maryland a 48-45 lead, setting the stage for a back-and-forth finish. Reuvers scored on three consecutive possessions during one stretch, but because the Badgers were unable to consistently stop Maryland, Wisconsin couldn't take command.

Cold shooting plagued the Badgers at the outset as Wisconsin started 5-for-17 from the field, including 3-for-8 around the rim. The Terrapins capitalized on Wisconsin's struggles, taking a 17-14 lead with 7:28 to go in the first half.

Wisconsin shot 43.6 percent for the game, including 37 percent in the first half.
