Darron Thomas threw two touchdown passes and ran for another as No. 6 Oregon pulled away from Arizona State 42-31 in a Pac-10 contest at Tempe, Ariz., Saturday night.

The Ducks (4-0) trailed 24-14 before taking control of the contest with 28 straight points. They led 42-31 in the third quarter and stopped four straight Sun Devil drives on turnovers in the fourth quarter.

Oregon’s defense scored twice in the game. John Boyett returned an interception 39 yards for one score and Boseko Lokombo returned a fumble 31 yards for another touchdown.

Arizona State (2-2) was haunted by seven turnovers. The Sun Devils outgained the Ducks by over 200 yards in the contest but quarterback Steven Threet threw four interceptions and Arizona State also fumbled the ball away three times.

LaMichael James, who ran for a 40-yard touchdown, led Oregon with 90 yards on 28 carries. Deantre Lewis rushed for 127 on 11 carries.

Thomas finished with 259 yards passing.
