The Big Game was a big blowout.

No. 8 Stanford scored the first eight times it had the ball and pounded host California 48-14 Saturday.

The Cardinal opened with a field goal and then scored touchdowns on its next six possessions.

With the win Stanford improved to 10-1 overall and 7-1 in the Pac-10. They also kept their Rose Bowl and BCS at-large bowl aspirations alive.

Andrew Luck threw a pair of touchdown passes for Stanford and running back Stepfan Taylor ran for three more. Luck completed 16 of 20 passes for 235 yards in the game. He also ran for 72 yards on three carries.

Stanford led 45-0 in the fourth quarter before Cal (5-6, 3-5) finally got on the scoreboard as Keenan Allen hit Marvin Jones with 17-yard touchdown pass.

But the game was totally dominated by Stanford. Cal turned the ball over on three of its first four possessions and the Golden Bears, who entered the game ranked 10th in total offense, allowed 465 yards of total offense. Stanford punted just once and that was when its starters were watching from the sideline.
It was the first time that Stanford had won at Cal since 2000.
