Brock Osweiler threw four touchdown passes and ran for another as Arizona State rallied from a 17-point first-quarter deficit to defeat visiting UCLA 55-34 in a Pac-10 conference contest Saturday.

Osweiler replaced starter Steven Threet who left the game early with a head injury. He finished with 377 yards passing while completing 27 of 36 attempts.

UCLA led 17-0 after getting a 12-yard touchdown run by Richard Brehaut and a 46-yard touchdown pass from Brehaut to Randall Carroll.

Osweiler responded with touchdown passes to Aaron Pflugrad, Mike Willie and Gerrell Robinson on consecutive drives to give the Sun Devils a 21-17 lead. He later connected with Pflugrad again and then capped the Sun Devils’ scoring with a 15-yard run late in the fourth quarter. Cameron Marshall added a 79-yard touchdown run in the third quarter for ASU. He had 149 yards on 16 carries on the day.

Arizona State improved to 5-6 overall and 3-5 in the conference and needs to win its season finale against Arizona to qualify for a bowl berth. The Sun Devils had 600 yards of offense. The Bruins (4-7, 2-6) were eliminated from the bowl picture with the loss.

Brehaut threw three touchdown passes on the day. He was 34 for 58 passing for 318 yards.
