The New York Islanders produced a three-goal second period Tuesday, two of the tallies from Jordan Eberle, and rolled to a 6-3 win over the host Pittsburgh Penguins.
Andrew Ladd, Brock Nelson, Matt Martin and Tom Kuhnhackl also scored as the Islanders won their third straight.
Sidney Crosby had a goal and an assist, and Dominik Simon and Evgeni Malkin also scored for Pittsburgh, which had won four in a row.
New York's Robin Lehner stopped 23 of 25 shots before leaving after the second period for undisclosed reasons. Thomas Greiss stopped 12 of 13 shots in the third.
Pittsburgh starter Matt Murray allowed four goals on nine shots before being pulled for Casey DeSmith, who stopped 14 of 16 shots.
Andrew Ladd gave the Islanders a 1-0 lead at 10:43 of the first when he jumped over the boards and went unchecked for a back-door play from Valtteri Filppula.
Josh Bailey purloined the puck from Pittsburgh's Riley Sheahan behind the Penguins net and fed Nelson in front for his team-leading sixth goal and a 2-0 lead at 12:28 of the first.
Simon's pass for Jake Guentzel glanced off the skate of New York defenseman Ryan Pulock and past Lehner to pull the Penguins to within 2-1 at 14:24 of the first.
Crosby tied it 2-2 at 17:41. He carried the puck to the left dot and shot over Lehner's glove.
Martin got the first of the three New York goals in the second, one-timing a feed from Casey Cizikas at 9:32.
Eberle scored goals less than two minutes apart. He moved out from the left corner and swept the puck past the far side of Murray at 11:56 during a power play -- chasing Murray -- then struck off a two-on-one at 13:49 to make it 5-2.
Malkin cut it to 5-3 at 1:23 of the third period when he scored on a backhander with his back to the net.
Kuhnhackl, formerly with Pittsburgh, got his first goal with the Islanders at 9:44 for a 6-3 lead when his pass went in off the skate of Pittsburgh defenseman Jamie Oleksiak.
