Jordan Kyrou had a goal, an assist and the decisive shootout goal as the St. Louis Blues edged the visiting Minnesota Wild 3-2 on Saturday night.
Brayden Schenn also scored and Jordan Binnington made 22 saves for the Blues, who won their third straight game.
Kirill Kaprizov had a goal and an assist for the Wild, who rallied from a 2-0 third-period deficit to force the shootout.
In the Western Conference wild-card race, St. Louis is now just one point behind Minnesota, which trails the Vegas Golden Knights by three points for the second wild-card spot.
Marco Rossi also scored and Marc-Andre Fleury made 35 saves as Minnesota extended its point streak to seven games (5-0-2).
The Blues outshot the Wild 11-6 in the scoreless first period and earned the best scoring chances.
Zachary Bolduc hit the right post on a two-on-one rush, Torey Krug fired a shot from the slot off the rush and Kevin Hayes had a point-blank shot from outside the left post on a two-on-one break.
St. Louis controlled much of the second period, too, while outshooting the Wild 12-8.
The Blues took a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal 5:49 into the period. Robert Thomas fed Jake Neighbours at the right post, then Neighbours made a behind-the-back pass to Kyrou for a tap-in at the left post.
Thomas earned his 300th career point with his assist.
Schenn increased the Blues' lead to 2-0 just 27 seconds into the third period by ripping a shot past Fleury off a rush up the left wing. The tally was Schenn's first since Jan. 28.
But the Wild responded 43 seconds later. Bolduc fell in the Blues' zone and lost the puck to Kaprizov, who fed Rossi for his goal coming in unchecked through the left circle.
Kaprizov tied the score 2-2 with 3:59 left in regulation by converting Mats Zuccarello's cross-ice pass to the right post.
Both teams had scoring chances in overtime. In the shootout, Schenn and Kyrou scored for the Blues while Matt Boldy scored for the Wild.
